Huskies Give Big 2022 supported by Matching Gift Challenge from Alumni Donor

Houston, Texas, Aug. 4, 2022 – Houston Baptist University (HBU) will host its annual Huskies Give Big campaign on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, 2022, to invite alumni and University friends to join forces to provide students with the financial support to fund their aspirations of receiving a quality, faith-based education that will pave the way for success in achieving their future career goals.

This year on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, we have the opportunity to join together with the unified purpose of realizing a truly momentous challenge. Nichole & Benny ’86 Agosto will match all gifts up to $50,000! Your gift, of any size, will be doubled and help us reach – or exceed – our goal!

Agosto received a bachelor’s degree from HBU and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the South Texas College of Law. He is now the managing partner and trial lawyer in the highly-acclaimed-and-respected law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner. He is also the founder of The Mexican American Bar Association Foundation and co-founder of the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Legal Education Fund, which provides scholarships for young Hispanic law students in the Houston area. More recently, he established the South Texas College of Law Benny Agosto, Jr. Diversity Center. Agosto lives his life by always challenging himself to keep learning, to love and support his family and to make every attempt to better his community. The former HBU soccer player and coach has shown continued commitment to supporting HBU’s soccer program through the years and now lends his lead support to this year’s Huskies Give Big fundraising initiative. He truly exemplifies the many characteristics that HBU holds close.

In a 2021 issue of The Pillars on “Academic Excellence,” Agosto said, “The seeds that were planted in my heart to become the best that I can be, work hard at my craft/education and always be present to give back to my community, were learned at HBU.”

“But what I really learned was that when you give of yourself and your finances to benefit others, and for the glory of God, you are guaranteed positive results. The heavens will open its floodgates of blessings overall,” said Agosto.
