Commuter Life & The Collegium

At HBU, over 55% of our student body is made up of commuter students. We understand that commuter students may face unique challenges on a daily basis that an on-campus resident may not. That’s the inspiration behind the Commuter Life Program!

The Commuter Life team is dedicated to providing commuter students with resources to make them feel right at home while on campus. One way we do this is by providing a space that is 100% dedicated to commuters- The Collegium. This space is designed to feel like a home away from home, complete with a full sized fridge, microwave, Kuerig, lockers, TV and a separate quiet study space. It’s the perfect retreat for before, between and after classes.

The Collegium is located in the Brown Student Center, right above the Chick-Fil-A. The space is open and free for any commuters to use Monday- Friday from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M.

Commuter Assistants

Commuter Assistants are student leaders who plan and promote community driven on and off-campus activities. They provide mentorship and discipleship to other commuter students and serve as commuter student advocates to Student Life and other departments. Commuter Assistants are also tasked with taking care of the physical space of the Collegium and to answer any questions you might have.
