Message from the Executive Director
Concerning The Guild Silver Tea
March 17, 2020
Dear Guild Members and Friends,
This last week has been a very challenging time for us all as we faced the unknown effects of the coronavirus. At the University, we have been addressing issues related to the needs of our students and our community, always mindful that our faith is strong and our Lord is in control.
I am truly disappointed to share with you that after much deliberation, and with our desire to put the welfare of our Guild members and friends first, we have made the decision to cancel the Silver Tea. While we hope that in time this issue will be resolved, we feel it is important to finalize plans now so that our Guild members and special guests will be aware of this cancellation decision.
A very special thank you to Janet and LaRue Coleman, our Silver Tea hosts, for their generosity and graciousness in sharing their home for this much loved tradition and to the Silver Tea committee chairs Madeline Collier, Cindy Garbs, and Linda Higginbotham and their committees for their many efforts in planning a spectacular event.
The Silver Tea is always a very memorable event for The Guild, and we will all miss the fun of spending time with friends and enjoying those special Tea delicacies. You will be pleased to know, however, that the Silver Tea is already a success. Through the generosity of many donors, a significant amount has been raised toward our goal; and we are truly grateful for these gifts which support The Guild’s mission to provide scholarships for graduate students in education and ministry. If you have not made a gift to the Silver Tea, we hope you will take this opportunity to contribute to this scholarship program by clicking here.
Thank you for all you do for HBU and especially The Guild. At this very unique time in our history, may we all join together in prayer for The Guild, HBU, our country, and the world knowing that our Father is with us.
Philippians 4:6 says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.”
Remember that we share faith in the One who watches over us all and sends His mercy upon us at all times.
Sending much love to you and your family … and looking forward to celebrating together soon!
Blessings Always and Forever,
