Advising and Student Persistence

Student Success Coaches are all about the student’s success!

Success Coaches help students effectively identify and take advantage of campus resources in order to help them persist throughout their college career at HBU. Success Coaches advocate for student involvement in the HBU community as well as assist students with the development of personal and professional goals. While Success Coaches help to hold students accountable for their academic journey, they labor to aid students in establishing healthy practices that will develop a sense of self-efficacy within their newfound autonomy.

Student Success Coaches
Advocate, Support, Connect

  • We advocate for students and empower students to advocate for themselves
  • We provide holistic support through 1:1 coaching, and by serving as an academic advisor for select majors
  • We connect students with campus resources such as Career & Calling, Academic Success Center, or Financial Aid

Students can connect with their success coach via Navigate.  We encourage all freshmen to meet their success coach at least two times per semester.
