Freshman Council

Purpose

Freshman Council acts an entry-level leadership organization at Houston Baptist University that brings together a diverse group of student leaders. The Freshman Council prepares members for further involvement in the Student Government Association, Student Programming Board, and other leadership positions on campus. Our Freshman Council invokes principles of hard work, leadership, and service to humanity. During the school year, the group meets weekly to discuss and plan events for the student body.

If you have any questions about the Freshman Council, please reach out to our team at First Year Experience by emailing fye@hbu.edu

"My favorite thing about freshman council was our diversity in events. We always tried to find something that would appeal to the students on campus and we made it our duty to connect with them so we could make it the best experience for them!"

"Through Freshman Council, I have gotten to meet amazing people and be a part of something great. My favorite thing is definitely seeing our ideas come to life. For example, most recently was our Valentine's Love at First Sight event. I absolutely loved seeing the students come out, have fun, and enjoy something we helped on."
