HBU Welcomes New Development Officer in Office of Advancement

Houston, Texas, May 3, 2022 – Houston Baptist University (HBU) welcomes Aaron Diehl in the role of Development Officer in the Office of Advancement and University Relations. An HBU alumnus, Diehl earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2006 and brings proven management and administrative skills to the position.

Prior to joining HBU, Diehl honed his skills in various management, financial and procurement roles for manufacturing companies in the oilfield services industry, including Vulcan Industrial and Black Horse LLC.

“Aaron’s talents and his commitment to HBU will be an asset to our advancement as we launch The Ten Pillars 2030 and move forward with our capital campaign and strategic initiatives,” said Sharon Saunders, Vice President of Advancement and University Relations. “As a former Chair of the HBU Alumni Association Board of Directors, he has a heart for his alma mater and will be a valuable member of our team.”

Passionate about HBU’s mission and the University’s role in the city and world, Diehl is excited to join forces in advancing the mission by growing relationships and connecting people with opportunity.

“To be able to come back to my alma mater in this capacity and help grow the University during these exciting times means so much to me. Dawgs up!” said Diehl.

He and his wife, Stephanie, a 2008 HBU alumna, established an endowed scholarship at HBU benefiting undergraduate students pursuing degrees in education. Besides HBU, Diehl’s passions include exploring with his family, cheering on the Houston Astros, supporting the Arsenal Football Club and keeping up with all things Houston. He and his wife, have two daughters, Elle and Kate.
