TriBeta Wins at Regional Convention

The Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society (known as TriBeta) at HBU participated in the online Beta Beta Beta South Central Regional Convention on April 10, 2021. Thirteen students, Dr. Jackie Horn, and the organization’s sponsors, Dr. Lisa Ellis and Dr. Curtis Henderson attended. TriBeta chapters from schools in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma were represented. Students gave oral and poster presentations on the undergraduate or graduate research. Two HBU students, Aria Dang and Tristan Henderson, gave oral presentations on their independent research projects.
A digital Chapter History (e-Scrapbook), led by students Lily Pham and Ally Bui, with help from other students, Sebastian Calderon, Alex Gomez, Maria Puche and Alvina Zia, won first place at the convention.
Next year, the HBU chapter will host the 2022 Beta Beta Beta South Central Regional Convention on April 1-3, 2022 at the Mt. Lebanon Retreat Center in Cedar Hill, TX.
