Culture Influencers: Humphreys and Ramos

Margaret Humphreys>Margaret F. Humphreys, former senior director of the Academic Success Center, and Kimberly Ramos, director of First-Year Success, presented at the National Conference of the Association of Christians in Student Development on “High-Risk Population Innovation: Maximizing Summer Bridget Programs for Student Success” at Wheaton College. Over the last five years, the HBU Summer Launch program has grown in student participation by 25 percent. The program focuses on preparing first-year students for the university classroom by teaching college self-efficacy.

Kimberly RamosMargaret and Kimberly were also accepted to present at the NASPA National Conference on “Maximizing Summer Bridge Partnerships for Student Success.” They are thrilled to share the inventive work Student Success and Advising is doing at HBU on a national level in March 2020. Dr. Tristan Fernandez-Cablay and Annel Gonzales will be co-presenting. NASPA (National Association of Student Personnel Administrators) is a U.S.-based student affairs organization boasting more than 15,000 members at 1,400 campuses and 25 countries. The 2019 NASPA national conference hosted more than 7,000 attendees.
