Sugar Land Mayor to Speak in HBU Prince-Chavanne Lecture Series

The Houston Baptist University Archie W. Dunham College of Business is pleased to welcome Mr. Joe Zimmerman, MBA ’89, mayor of Sugar Land, as the 2017 Prince-Chavanne Lecture Series speaker. He will speak at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 16, in the Belin Chapel, 7502 Fondren Road.

Dr. John “Rusty” Brooks, HBU Prince-Chavanne Chair in Christian Business Ethics, said the Prince-Chavanne Lecture Series is an opportunity for students and guests to hear from industry leaders who can speak first-hand about Christian business ethics. “Mr. Zimmerman is a treasured alumnus, and draws from his experience both in business and public service,” Brooks said.

Zimmerman, a businessman and engineer, is also the recipient of this year’s HBU Distinguished Alumnus Award.
