Dr. Busiek’s primary focus is curriculum and instruction.

Awards and Honors

Dr. Busiek was nominated in 2012 for the Opal Goolsby Outstanding Teacher Award.  She was nominated to represent HBU for the Piper Professor Award in 2015.

Additional Information

Dr. Busiek has served as an adjunct professor for Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and HBU. She has also served as a recruiter and advisor for Arizona State University’s master’s programs in the College of Education. She has worked for the Texas Education Agency as a Program Specialist in the Educator Standards Division where she worked to support educator preparation programs across Texas.

She is an active member of the Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE), the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), Phi Delta Kappa (PDK), Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education (KDP), and the Texas Association of College Teachers (TACT).
