CAPP Degree Evaluation
CAPP Degree Evaluations enable students and advisors to generate electronic compliance requests. Please note, CAPP does not replace the requirements set forth in the University Catalog and evaluation reports are not official. If you find any discrepancies, errors, or omissions, please report these by sending an email to email@example.com. Please include your name, HuskyNet User ID number (H-number), and description of the issue(s).
Running an Evaluation
- Log into HuskyNet
- Click Student and Financial Aid
- Click Student Records
- Click Degree Evaluation
- Under Select Current Term you may select current or future terms and click Submit
- At bottom of Degree Evaluation Record page select Generate New Evaluation
- Click button for program, select term, and click Generate Request
- Under Degree Evaluation Options, select Detail Requirements and click Submit
Reviewing an Evaluation
The first section of the degree evaluation report summarizes your curriculum information and provides an overall list of degree requirements, such as minimum number of credit hours, program and overall GPAs, etc.
The next section of the report is divided into program areas. These areas may be displayed as Community Life & Worship Requirement, Reading Proficiency Requirement, Smith College Requirement, Advanced Hours Requirement, and other degree requirements. The requirements appear on the left and the courses and/or credit that meet the requirements are located on the right.
General Requirements display a concise view of the evaluation. Core curriculum areas are considered ‘met’ or ‘not met’ based on requirements defined in the HBU Catalog.
Detail Requirements display each of the rules that define the Core areas. Each requirement or rule will be ‘met’ or ‘not met’. The Core area is considered ‘met’ when each of its requirements or rules is ‘met’.
Additional Requirements highlight non-course requirements (Departmental exams, Regent’s Test, Legislative Requirements, etc), courses not used in the evaluation, and any restricted grades.
Understanding Your Evaluation
Across the top are three columns: Met, Credit, and Courses
Met – will always read either ‘yes’ or ‘no’, and will tell you if you have met the requirements listed in the corresponding row.
Credits – are subdivided into two other columns: Required and Used. The Required column is how many earned hours you need to complete the requirements in the corresponding row. The Used column tells you how many earned hours you have toward that requirement.
Courses – works the same way as Credits, except that it counts actual classes instead of credit hours. HBU does not use classes to calculate graduation requirements; therefore, the Required column under this area is blank. The Degree Evaluation will count your courses and put them in the Used column.
The rows represent different graduation requirements based on the degree, program, and major.
Total Required indicates the total number of required credit hours you must have to graduate.
Required Institutional is the number of credit hours that are required to be taken in residence at HBU as part of the degree program.
Last Number Institutional Required … Out of Last Earned is the number of credit hours that are required to be taken in residence at HBU out of your last earned credit hours taken, i.e. 30 of your last 30 credit hours taken must be at HBU.
Program GPA is the grade point average for the courses which count toward your degree plan.
Overall GPA is the grade point average for all courses taken at HBU. “Required” is the GPA required to graduate and “Used” is your actual GPA.
Other Course Information should be blank for all students. It is not used in the HBU Degree Evaluation.
Transfer denotes the number of credits and courses which you have transferred in to HBU. This row will not have a requirement.
In Progress specifies how many hours you are taking in the current quarter/semester. These In Progress hours are included in the Total Used hours listed at the top of the Degree Evaluation.
