Houston Baptist University seeks a professor in marketing for the Archie W. Dunham College of Business. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications. This visiting position is available beginning January 2020 and is for up to a one-year appointment. Review of applications will begin immediately, and continue until the position is filled.
HBU’s primary mission is teaching. Courses are delivered in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. The School offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Science in Business, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Human Resource Management, and Master of Science in Management & Entrepreneurship.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide excellent teaching to undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of delivery formats;
- Actively integrate the Christian faith in teaching and scholarship;
- Conduct primarily applied and pedagogical research in Marketing leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals to maintain academically qualified status; and,
- Engage in service to the School, University, and community.
Candidates should have at a minimum a Master’s degree with 18-hours in Marketing. A PhD or DBA from an AACSB- or ACBSP-accredited school is preferred. ABD will be considered. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications. The Dunham College of Business at Houston Baptist University is accredited through ACBSP and is currently in the reaffirmation process. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the accreditation process.
Professional experience in a Marketing or a related field will be an advantage. Senior executive experience along with a Master’s degree may be sufficient without a doctoral degree.
HBU seeks candidates with an active Christian faith who are willing to integrate faith and learning in the classroom. The candidate must be able to document an excellent teaching record and provide evidence of scholarly interests and achievements.
