Position Summary

Responsible for all shipping, receiving, and inventory entry of merchandise for the bookstore.

Job Responsibilities

  • Receive merchandise from various suppliers.
  • Keep detailed log of all incoming and outgoing packages.
  • Stock bookstore with merchandise and keep stocked.
  • Pack and Ship orders for out-of-town shipments.
  • Handle return shipments to suppliers.
  • Enters incoming shipments into the computerized POS system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED and one to two years shipping and receiving experience.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

None.

OTHER JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to use department’s current computer hardware and software.
  • Basic knowledge of Word and Excel.

JOB RELEVANT COMPETENCIES:

  • Listens effectively and cooperates with others.
  • Customer-service oriented, is prompt and efficient.
  • Must be very detail oriented.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Normal office conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

In exercising these functions the employee must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. regularly. The employees must be able to see objects up close.
