Position Summary

The Dunham College of Business at Houston Baptist University seeks a professor of accounting. Rank for this position is open (assistant/associate/full) and will be commensurate with qualifications. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Job Responsibilities

Teaching graduate/undergraduate classes, maintaining an active research program appropriate for a teaching institution, and service activities as required.


The successful candidate will have a PhD in accounting from an AACSB accredited institution and will also have an active research agenda. ABD candidates will be considered if the degree will be completed before the start of employment. Professional experience in a related field will be an advantage.  HBU seeks candidates with an active Christian faith who are willing to integrate faith and learning in the classroom.  The candidate must be able to document an excellent teaching record and provide evidence of scholarly interests and achievements. Candidates should be able to teach in one or more of the following areas: intermediate accounting, advanced accounting, or taxation. The Dunham College of Business at Houston Baptist University is a member of AACSB and anticipates entering AACSB accreditation candidacy in 12-18 months.  Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with the AACSB accreditation process.
