Houston Baptist University seeks candidates in management for the Archie W. Dunham College of Business. Ideal candidates will have an emphasis in human resource management, international business, organizational behavior, entrepreneurship, strategy, or another closely related discipline. Candidates must be available to begin work on campus in August 2021. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
HBU’s primary mission is teaching. Courses are delivered in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. The College offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Business Administration (multiple majors), Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Human Resource Management, and Master of Science in Management & Entrepreneurship. Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to advising students, recruitment and retention activities, committee service, community and professional outreach activities, and program coordination. The selected candidate will also perform other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide excellent teaching to undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of delivery formats;
- Actively integrate the Christian faith in teaching;
- Actively engage in scholarly work in their related discipline; and,
- Engage in various service activities to the College, University, and community.
Candidates should have an earned PhD or DBA from an AACSB- or ACBSP-accredited school. ABD will be considered with evidence of sufficient progress to complete the degree within one year of appointment. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications. The Dunham College of Business at Houston Baptist University is currently in the reaffirmation process with the ACBSP. Preference will be given to candidates that have experience with the accreditation process.
Professional experience within the candidate’s discipline or in a related field will be an advantage.
HBU seeks candidates with an active Christian faith who are willing to integrate faith and learning in the classroom. The candidate must be able to document an excellent teaching record and provide evidence of scholarly interests and achievements.
