What They Don't Teach You about Science in High School

Dr. Curtis Henderson, associate professor biology at HBU, will talk about the differences between studying science in high school and studying it at the college level. Many students enroll in college science courses not knowing what to expect. After listening to Dr. Henderson, you'll have a better idea of what to expect in your college science classes.

Intellectual Virtue and the State of Higher Education

Dr. Jodey Hinze, the dean of HBU’s Smith College, will speak to parents and students about how to think about their choices when it comes to higher education. Is college worth it? Should everyone go to college? What should you be looking for in a college? Dr. Hinze will address these questions and others in his presentation.

Coming November 14, 2015, 9:00 a.m. to noon

Location: The Hinton Center on the campus of Houston Baptist University.

As Winston Churchill said, “The first duty of a university is to teach wisdom, not a trade; character, not technicalities.” Pursue a foundation of wisdom and character by accepting the challenge to study at Houston Baptist University.
