Position Summary:

Houston Baptist University seeks a Chair of the Department of Theology.
The successful candidate will be a gifted administrator that will be able to lead the Department of Theology.  Experiences with distance learning options, accreditation processes and curriculum development are a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be able to teach select Christianity courses in the liberal arts core curriculum, upper-level courses in the Christianity major and minor, and courses in the Master of Arts in Theological Studies program


The successful candidate must have a PhD or ThD from an accredited university or seminary by August 2014 and demonstrate enthusiasm for our classical liberal arts core curriculum which includes embracing the need for these courses to complement each other.

The chair may have any specialty among the traditional theological disciplines—for example, biblical studies, historical/systematic theology, and/or practical theology
