Position Summary:

The School of Business at Houston Baptist University seeks to fill two positions in accounting:  an assistant professor and an associate or full professor, commensurate with qualifications. Candidates should be available to begin work in August 2015 or earlier.  Applicants who submit all required materials before Feb. 28, 2015 will receive preference, though both positions are open until filled.



Job Responsibilities:

Teaching graduate/undergraduate classes, maintaining an active research program appropriate for a teaching institution, and service activities as required.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a PhD in accounting. ABD candidates will be considered if the degree will be completed before the start of the Fall 2015 semester. Professional experience in a related field will be an advantage.  HBU seeks candidates with an active Christian faith who are willing to integrate faith and learning in the classroom.  The candidate must be able to document an excellent teaching record and provide evidence of scholarly interests and achievements. Candidates should be able to teach in one or more of the following areas: intermediate accounting, advanced accounting, or taxation.  The HBU School of Business anticipates entering AACSB candidacy in the next 12-18 months.  Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with the AACSB accreditation process.
