Updates on 2024-2025 FAFSA Applications and Estimated Offer Letters

Due to the significant delays in the Department of Education processing, we anticipate processing your FAFSA application in our system by the end of April. We are working diligently to process estimated award offers by the end of April to early May.


We anticipate another update from the Department of Education after May 1st. At that time, we will reprocess financial aid offers and notify you to review your updated offer in the HuskyNet Portal. Our office is dedicated to assisting our students and families with this year’s FAFSA delays.

The Office of Financial Aid at Houston Christian University is here to help connect students and parents with the resources they need to make A Higher Education as affordable as possible. We have numerous academic, talent, leadership, merit, athletic, and alumni scholarships and grants available to finance your education.

Important Annual Financial Aid Deadlines

December 31*

Date students may begin submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2024-25 academic year. List HCU’s federal school code — 003576 — on your application.

March 1

The preferred deadline to submit the FAFSA for prospective and returning HCU students. The Office of Financial Aid begins aid packaging in March. Additional required documentation must be returned by the due date indicated on the award letter.

April 15

The priority annual deadline for continuing students to submit the FAFSA and all requested documentation to receive renewal of financial aid award(s).
