Residential Areas
At HBU, our goal is to ensure that all students have the best residential experience possible. To us, that means integrating the residence life experience and the educational process by offering a multitude of on campus living options. The benefits of residing on campus are abundant, and research even shows that students who live on campus have a more productive and ultimately more satisfying college experience. That’s why, at HBU, you’ll find a campus that’s also a thriving community—one that fosters collaboration, friendship and spiritual development.
Living under the same roof as other students makes it easy to form new friendships. And for many, the friendships made during their first year of college become some of the strongest and longest lasting in their lives. By living together, students are also better able to build upon what they learn in the classroom by collaborating with classmates and continuing classroom discussions. The same can be said for their spiritual growth. Being surrounded by others with a similar desire to follow Christ as a model helps students take their faith seriously.
Freshman students live in Freshman Village: the Rebecca Bates Philips Residence College for Women (WRC), the Mest Wing for women (Mest), and the Reuben L Philips Residence College for Men (MRC).
Sophomore, Junior, and Senior students live in the Lake House (TLH).
Junior and Senior students may also choose to live in the on campus apartments, Husky Village (HV).
