Aaron Swarts serves as the Director and is responsible for overseeing the Employer Relations operation for Career Fairs, Career Insiders Series, Recruit-A-Husky Booths, and other Employer-Driven Workshops & Events.

Aaron started as the Assistant Director of Career and Calling at Houston Christian University in October of 2016. Aaron is in charge of Employer Relations and is the point of contact for Career Fairs, Information Sessions, Career Development Seminars, and other events on campus…connecting Huskies with employers!

Aaron also serves as the Student Success Specialist for the School of Christian Thought. A key tip for all incoming freshman – Aaron suggests, “Make sure to get at least one buddy for each class. Notes. Studying. Friendship!” Look for him in Atwood I after Wednesday’s Convocations for a PB&J bar!

Prior to working at HCU, he served as Assistant Director of Career Services at The Art Institute of Houston, as well as an Graduate Assistant (Academic) Advisor at the University of Kansas. Aaron has experience working with a diverse group of students who have studied a wide variety of majors. He has excelled in coaching students and alumni in their search for the right fit, whether that be part-time jobs, internships, or full-time positions. He has also succeeded in partnering with employers in all industries, assisting small to large companies find top candidates. From individual job search strategies to career development workshops to classroom instruction, Aaron brings a passion for helping individuals on their career path.

Career and Calling at Houston Christian University is the centralized career resource for all majors including alumni. We prepare all of our students for the World of Business beginning in the very first year of college and the career coaching and developing of our students continues throughout the undergraduate years into graduate school and beyond as HCU alumni professionals are encouraged to come back home for career assistance and retooling. Career & Calling seeks to provide assistance for students and alumni in exploring one’s life calling through personal discovery, vocational exploration, and educational training.
