Dr. Mohan Kuruvilla
Dean, School of Business
As Dean of the School of Business, Dr. Kuruvilla provides overall leadership for the mission of the Center for Christianity in Business (CCB). He also serves as the main liaison for CCB with University administration and the Board of Trustees.
Dr. Kuruvilla was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) for a two-year term beginning in June 2008. He has been on the Editorial Board of the TSCPA since 2004 and was the chair of the Editorial Board for 2008-09. He chaired the annual corporate conference of Asia Society in 2006. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Taurus Quest, a company specializing in accounting services. He has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Houston Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Indo-American Charity Foundation, both for 2009. He has been interviewed several times by local and international media on various business topics. Prior to joining HBU, Dr. Kuruvilla was a Director of KPMG in India.
Dr. Kuruvilla holds an MBA in Finance and a PhD in Accountancy from the University of Houston. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (ACA).
Dr. Ernest Liang

Associate Professor of Finance, School of Business
Prior to joining HBU in 2006, Dr. Liang spent over 25 years in industry, serving in roles ranging from chief economist to corporate treasurer to chief financial and operating officer at Fortune 500 and transactional advisory companies. While in industry, he developed a passion for integrating Biblical values and principles with business practices. This passion is carried into the vision for CCB after he joined HBU.
As an academic, Dr. Liang's research interests include integration of finance and the Scriptures, financial markets and institutions, corporate finance, and the economics of development. Dr. Liang teaches in both the graduate and undergraduate business programs, with focus primarily on investment, corporate finance, and leadership. Dr. Liang’s publications and professional presentations have included works on the biblical perspectives on the global financial crisis, biblical integration of faith and finance, financial pedagogy, intellectual capital and corporate performance, financial market reforms and economic development in China.
Dr. Liang holds an MBA and PhD from the University of Chicago.
