Church Leadership Internships
Students participating in this internship will complete 30 hours of service over one semester at the same Christian ministry site. Other components of this leadership opportunity include an initial written proposal, an on-site supervisor and accountability group, and a final reflection paper. All work must be turned in by the designated deadline(s) by the end of the semester of service. Twenty (20) CLW credits are given upon successful completion of the internship. The last day to begin a CLI internship for the Spring 2013 semester will be Monday, February 25, 2013. All requirements must be completed by Monday, April 15, 2013.
The Church Leadership Internship (for CLW credit) may not be used in conjunction with meeting academic requirements and/or receiving monetary compensation. The Church Leadership internship is a CLW leadership option for students who want to lead ministries within the local Christian church.
If interested in participating, submit to the University Minister
a written proposal describing the ministry opportunity you plan to lead. The proposal must be approved by the Spiritual Life Office before the CLI service hours begin. Students may receive up to 20 credits/semester in addition to the 20 credits from the CLI. There is a career limit of one CLI for CLW credits. In this leadership internship, we are defining leadership as a person who guides, directs, and/or presides over an activity, program or group of people. Leadership consists of more than attendance, service, participation and management.
