What is Community Life & Worship?
The Community Life & Worship program has been developed to offer a variety of opportunities for spiritual development and service, both on and off campus. Like an academic curriculum, there are certain requirements you must meet for graduation, but the program is flexible enough to make every student’s experience unique.
Do I have to participate?
How can I get CLW credits?
Do transfer students have to start from scratch?
How many credits do I have?
Check your progress by logging on to the
MY.hbu.edu portal and clicking on the "CLW Credits" icon in the upper left corner.
What do I do if my credit record is wrong?
You have one semester to report any discrepancies with your credit count. It is your responsibility, not the Spiritual Life staff’s, to make sure your record is accurate.
What if I’m starting my junior year with no credits?
You will need to earn the maximum of 20 credits per semester in your final two years to meet the graduation requirement. Failure to meet the spiritual life graduation requirement will prevent you from receiving your diploma or participating in commencement.
What if I forget my ID card?
At some events, like Convocation, students may sign in, but you may do this no more than twice per semester.
Is there a petition policy for CLW credits?
Can I get more than the minimum “Worship” credits?
Can I get all of my credits through Community Service?
What is Convocation?
“Convo” is our largest weekly gathering.
What is Quest?
Quest is our weekly contemporary worship service.
What are the Service Learning Internship (SLI) and the Church Leadership Internship (CLI)?

What do you offer for commuter students?

Commuter Ministry. Commuter breakfasts and devotionals, which offer opportunities for fellowship but not CLW credits (
read more...). Aside from scheduled on-campus events, there are a number of credit opportunities – such as the
Dunham Bible Museum, Screwtape Letters and
Nooma DVDs – that you can complete at your own convenience.
