The HBU Future Scholars Forum is for highschool sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and their parents. This is a free, one-day event that will help you get a head start on succeeding in college.

What you can do now to do well academically later
How a liberal arts education relates to your faith
What the current challenges facing higher ed and how we can overcome them
What HBU means by A Higher Education
who attend this event and are accepted into the class of 2018 in the Honors College at HBU will qualify for a $1,500 housing grant from HBU.
Date: November 16, 2013 - 9am to Noon
Location: Dillon II meeting room in the Hinton Center
on the campus of Houston Baptist University.

Mary Jo Sharp, assistant professor of apologetics at HBU and founder of Confident Christianity, will talk to parents and students about how Christian apologetics and liberal arts education can be integrated in a way that strengthens both apologetics and education.
God and Your Liberal Arts Education
Parents and students who attend will benefit from hearing the university provost, Dr. John Mark Reynolds, describe the challenges facing Christian higher education and how HBU is leading the way in responding to them.
Intellectual Virtue and the Challenges of Christian Higher Education
Megan Mueller, the director of HBU’s Academic Success Center, will speak to parents and students about how students can prepare now to succeed academically at the university level.
Attitudes, Habits, and Skills: What You Need to Succeed in College
