Mrs. Cox’s primary teaching focus is Obstetrics and Geriatric Nursing. Her clinical expertise and a large portion of her educational background are in this area of nursing. She has taught classes in nursing programs at SUNY Binghamton, NY, Elmira College, NY, RETS College, OH, and Harford Community College, MD.

Mrs. Cox is presently teaching OB in the classroom as well as in the clinical setting. She is assisting with advising future and present HBU nursing students.
She is active in her local church, Shady Acres Baptist, and is the wife of the associate pastor and song leader. She participates in singing special music herself and interpreting for the deaf.
Research interests are early prenatal teaching and the effect on preventing postpartum complications/depression in childbearing women.
Before coming to HBU, she held the held the office of acting Director of Nursing at RETS College and served on the curriculum and planning committee. She has also held the positions of Director of Nurses at Jacob's Well Assisted Living in Belair, MD and Certified Assessment Coordinator, Citizens Care and Rehab Center, Havie de' Grace, MD.

Before her nursing career, Mrs. Cox worked with the deaf, interpreting, counseling and teaching sign language. She has traveled to different churches across America teaching, singing and interpreting for over 20 years.
