Teaching Focus
Dr. Brupbacher's teaching focuses on how learning occurs, teaching methodology, classroom management/discipline, multicultural education, and mathematics education.
Awards and Honors
She was honored by HBU in 1995 with the Distinguished Alumnus Award and in 1997 with the Opal Goolsby Outstanding Teaching Award. In 2008, Dr. Brupbacher was one of 15 college and university professors in Texas honored with the Piper Professor Award.
Additional Information
An experienced classroom teacher, her writing interests include classroom management, learning and educational application technology. She served as a grant evaluator, program evaluator and literacy consultant. Her publications and professional presentations have included work on learning, instructional methodology, curriculum design, methods for teaching math, program evaluation, and classroom management/discipline.
While at HBU, Dr. Brupbacher has served as the chair of the Department of Education and Kinesiology, as Director of Field Experiences, and as chair of the Teacher Education Committee.
Dr. Brupbacher has held several state leadership positions including serving as president of the Texas Directors of Field Experience, Chair of the Texas Centers for Educational Partnerships and a member of the Consortium of State Organizations for Teacher Education.
