Teaching Focus

Dr. Martinez’ teaching focus is Strategic Management and other courses in the Management field. His research focus area involves the integration of faith and learning, especially in business.


Dr. Martinez’ most recent publications and professional presentations involve work on spiritual capital, and building a model of integrating the Christian faith in business.

Additional Information

Dr. Martinez has served in editorial roles and was the founding Director of the Center for Christian Leadership at Charleston Southern University.

Prior to entering college life, Dr. Martinez served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear power plant operator aboard surface ships. Most importantly, Rick has been married to his wife, Peggy, for 22 years, and has three children – Mariah, Tyler, and Sierra.
